AlphaBoat is an entertaining game which teaches children the Alphabet. In one activity the child is asked to find a "Big" or Little" letter. By choosing the correct letter the child moves a sail boat from one tropical island to the next.
In a second activity the child clicks on a camera and displays a picture of a common object such as a hat. The program then asks "What letter does the word HAT start with?" The target word is pronounced very carefully so that the sound of the starting letter can be clearly heard. Correct answers move the boat forward.
Both activities contain ways to get help finding the correct letter.
The program is in full color and uses many high quality digitized sounds. Because of the included sounds the program size is quite large (over a MEG when expanded). It is kid tested and approved!
MANY hours went into the making of AlphaBoat. All of the sounds had to be recorded and edited. Each drawing was individually created for this program. Programing takes a lot of time. I am happy to be able to create somthing which is fun and educational and which can be sold for much less than the cost of traditionally distributed children's software.
